Don't forget the best log competition and the Ann Crawford Memorial Trophy
We had nearly 40 folks in 12 yachts turn out for the Portavadie barbecue, with downhill all the way home on the Sunday. A good an seemingly promising start to the season...
Sadly Kames blew up an unseasonable SE6 to 7 and we had a number of cancellations for Kames on 12 July: a notable mention must go to Graham Bibby and his teenage daughters and friend who joined John and Alex Rhind for this one. The Sunday morning was beautiful, and we all pootled off to Largs before the next (unseasonable?) blow kicked in.
What with the closure of the Crinan which made getting to Port Appin a bit of a lottery, it's been a funny old year — again! Hopefully with the 2-year La Nina event now over we can look forward to a less breezy and wet winter with a better spring next year. (Where have I head that before? Ed)

The 'Ann Crawford Memorial Trophy' is awarded for the best narrative cruising log of the season. Get writing and/or illustrating: Graham tells me he's looking for honesty: the good days, the bad days and the positively indifferent.
